I loved the design and I bought it in oil rubbed bronze finish with the intention of putting it in the contemporary dining room with lots of teak wood. The first time it came damaged inside due to poor manufacturer packaging - several glass diffusers were shattered into pieces, so I ordered the second one without returning the first one (paying twice), hoping to be able to assemble one whole chandelier out of two possibly broken sets. The second package was damaged from the outside, but the contents did not suffer. I wanted to assemble it as a ceiling fixture with short rods, rather than the prethreaded long ones. Instructions are very poor - there is not a single picture of the fixture or parts there. There is no advice for alternative assembly. It was a real challenge to figure out how to thread the wires and where to screw the nuts and rods first, but I managed. By the way - you'll definitely need another person to hold it while you are connecting the wires. And adjust the swivel brackets, so they are aligned before you install it.
There was a small wrench included that I did not use during the assembly and I was wondering what it was for - still don't know.
The problem is that the square plate covering the ceiling box is not the one shown on the picture. Instead of a square box, it is only a square plate with a round ring underneath it, which fails to cover entirely my standard octagon electrical box (just a tad, but the metal rim is visible on one side). So, I will have to patch the ceiling or put another larger ring around the existing one. The hardware provided did not fit my octagonal box properly - I had to use my old cross plate.
What is even worse, the entire fixture is out of balance, tilting to the side, and since it is so geometric it is really disturbing. The glass diffusers are so heavy that you cannot adjust the fixture, so the rectangular frame is not parallel to the ceiling. I will have to try to swap the glass diffusers from one side to another in the hope that they are different weights, rather than the fixture is not properly made.
The light is very bright - 600 Watts and the wiring is only double, so all the bulbs are lit all the time. I will have to invest into a dimmer switch. Hopefully the halogen bulbs will work with the dimmer switch.
Bottom line: expect a lot of headache, but the result may be, what you wished for.
