I went through a lot of reviews and waded through multiple web sites looking for the 'perfect' fan for the bedroom. I learned more than I thought was possible about ceiling fans, but my main criteria were the amount of air it moved and how quiet it was. This fan fulfills those 2 items very well. I'm looking forward to using at high speed in the summer as it should help keep me keep cooler (I live in Los Angeles). The light is brighter than I originally thought, and I'm not too disappointed about the non-standard bulb, plus I really didn't want the 'candelabra' bulbs. This was a 'low-ceiling' installation, but high speed still moves a large amount of air. Very happy with this purchase, and more importantly, so is my wife.
For the Do-it-yourselfers, I didn't have too much trouble installing it, but it does take some time. The most important thing is having a stable ladder/step stool that will put you right up to the ceiling without reaching at all, I didn't and it made it much more difficult than it needed to be.

(More customer reviews)We were looking for some good looking well made lighting fixtures to go over our matching oil rubbed bronze bathroom mirrors and were not happy with what was available locally. Most of the stuff we saw was chintzy and the finishes were not to our liking. I also did not like the glass shades they had paired up with the fixtures as they were all dark golden in color and wouldn't offer enough brightness when lit. We decided to look on-line and when I came across this fixture I knew it was more like what I had in mind. I ordered two of them and when they came I was not disappointed. They were made very well and were heavy & solid. They look great with all my other oil rubbed bronze fixtures and accessories and the globes offer a nice clean light.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this 3-light vanity set along with the (I thought) matching hallway 1-light set and the 4-light vanity set for another bathroom. The hallway light and the 4-light sets have vanilla glass shades, but the 3-light set has a weird amber scrollwork pattern that I did not like as much. If you look at the photos closely (with zoom), you can see this pattern.
My suggestion is to look around for a 3-light vanity set with the vanilla shades; they are much nicer looking.

(More customer reviews)I like this chandelier, and when installed it looks great in my dining room. While there was no visible damage with the packaging, after installation, I noticed that the lights are bent downward - kind of sagging about 10-15 degrees outwardly. It appears to be a manufacturing defect as the arms supporting each light don't appear to be curved enough. I would like to try bending them up so the lights are level, rather than taking the fixture down and getting another one with the same manufacturing defect. I don't want to do this before getting advice and consent from the supplier in case this causes a crimp in the metal arm, which will then require fixture replacement.
I have sent an inquiry to Amazon directly, and they directed me to contact the supplier directly (while providing no information on how to accomplish this). After searching the internet, I found the website for Maxim Lighting; whom I contacted about this issue through their website. After several weeks, there is still no answer, so I cannot recommend this chandelier, nor this supplier to anyone!
I am also disappointed by Amazon's passing the buck and lack of guidance on how contact the supplier, whom they apparently have a sizable relationship with. My experience with both Amazon and Maxim Lighting on this purchase is woefully inadequate!

(More customer reviews)This ceiling fan is an excellent buy for the money. I was pleasantly suprised at how it looked after I installed it in my Living Room. I have read the other reviews about the fan making noise, so I was a bit skeptical about buying it, but I bought it anyways. Boy I am glad I did! This is a really good looking ceiling fan. Gives the room a classy, but not too flashy look. Every person who has come to the house after I installed this has complimented on it. As far as noise, I experienced none. Just make sure when you put the blades together with the arms, make certain that the screws are good and tight. I used a cordless DeWalt drill with the torque setting set low to #12 to assure a good tight fit. I actually was so impressed with the looks and operation of this fan that I immeadiately went back to amazon.com and bought another fan exactly like this one, for my kitchen. Same review - absolutely no problems, none whatsoever. Shipping was very fast with the free super saver shipping, I got it in about 3 days after ordering. Wal-Mart offers this same exact fan, but it is priced about $20 higher.
ONE THING I WILL STRESS: Absolutely DO NOT and I mean, DO NOT waste your time buying the cheap candelabra candle tip bulbs - It seems to me that it burns through a lot of them. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot (or even here at Amazon.com) and buy the CFL (Compact Flourescent Light Bulbs) Candelabra base bulbs. I've had the CFL bulbs in there for almost two months in the living room fan and they are yet to burn out. But I have the regular ones in the kitchen and have had all three burn out once already. So, pay the extra money and get the CFL bulbs. They will last longer and you'll save money in the long run.... 13 Watt CFL = 60 Watt Incandescent. Also keep in mind that CFL bulbs can be purchased in different color temperatures to give you the light effect you want. So pay attention to that. Hope this review helped you out.
