(More customer reviews)This fan is really beautiful and well built. We bought this fan specifically because we have lower ceilings--a little below 8' and this fan hugs the ceiling nicely. The metal housing has a nice sheen without being too ornate. We used the darker side of the blade to coordinate with a wrought iron chandelier in the dining room, and it looks great.
Installation was standard for a ceiling fan, no problems at all. Why only 4 stars? Because it doesn't churn up as much air as I'd like. It feels Ike there should be one more speed setting higher than there is. All together, still a keeper, though. Cheers!

Fanimation FP5620OB Huxley Ceiling Fan, Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish, 5 Cherry/Walnut Blades Review

(More customer reviews)We got the fan 2 weeks ago for our 2 story Family Room (20' by 19' by 18' tall), first thing we noticed: the advertised size of 54" on the box was taped over by a little 52".
The manufacturer themselves were not aware of it that the size "changed", but yes, it is a mere 52". According to them it still moves the same amount of air (about 5529 cubic foot of air). Every web-page I look at advertises it as a 54". Booh to the manufacturer for not setting this straight! For our large Family Room I specifically did not want a small Fan. A 54" was my minimum!
We still installed it with a 3' downrod because of its great air-rating. After that we noticed that we won't be able to operate the Reverse Switch with an extension pole, because it moves side to side (not up and down like most fans), and to top it off, it is barely raised, not even a real switch! Bad Design, Fanimation!
This Fan is definitely not made for 2-story Rooms. I wouldn't recommend it for tall ceiling unless you want to rent a tall ladder for every season change. After-market remotes for the Reverse Switch are not available either!
Either way, we are keeping it for now (despite my husbands complaint). It does move enough air to our satisfaction and despite it looking a little too small, it does have a great look!!

My electrician had no trouble mounting the boxes and lights but when we tried to adjust the angle of the arms, they were difficult to get to stay in place and within 48 hours one light had dropped out of it's thread at the box. We did finally fix it by making the arm really tight in the only position that it would stay adjusted. We're hoping it stays in place. Love the way they look though.

I purchased 2 of these light fixtures due to the style and the oil rubbed bronze finish to match the rest of my bathroom fixtures. The finish style is much different from the website image and the product box. The finish described on the website and shows in the pictures is the oil rubbed bronze finish. Instead, the product was of a metallic silver finish. After opening the box, and noticed the difference, I read the description on the box. It states the finish is a classic bronze. This is completely different from the website/box images and website description/title. The craftsmanship is also very poor. The mold is rough and maybe not finish. The fixture looks like it was dropped and kicked across the floor. This product is ugly and is nothing like the descriptions and images.
I am amazed how other people reviewed this with 5 stars. This product is clearly incorrectly advertised, ugly and is poor quality. Very disappointed in this purchase I will be returning these back to Amazon.

(More customer reviews)When you take the lights out of the box they have a big sticker on them that says "Product intended for short term (90 days max) use". Definitely something that should be told up front as most people ,including me, would not have bought if they knew this disclaimer.
Also, product info said the lights were built with "Amber Glass". There is no glass. It is made with flimsy plastic that buckles very easily if touched.

(More customer reviews)The chandelier arrived quickly, in fact a day earlier than expected. The description on Amazon was of a Oil rubbed bronze chandelier with white alabaster glass. The Chandelier, in fact comes with Sepia Tinted glass shades and white alabaster shades are not available for this chandelier.
The item must have been previously sold as it was obvious it had been re-packaged and the bubble wrap was all taped every which way. There was to be a length of chain to hang the Chandelier, but there was none in the box. To date, I have not been able to hang the item, but I really like the look of it and even without the white shades, would like to keep it. I cannot hang it with wires alone and have not yet found a way to get a chain to match.
Still waiting for a response from the store that shipped it.

The globe is heavy glass, very sturdy and has a subtle texture in it almost like linen fabric, hard to describe but so pretty. The lamp is sturdy, well put together and was easy to install. Some helpful information is that the oil rubbed bronze is not quite as dark as it appears in the photo - it has tiny flecks of gold in it - did not exactly match our dark oil rubbed bronze (Moen) fixtures but it is so pretty that I am ok with that!

(More customer reviews)We installed this fan about two months ago. It was fine but occasionally we would smell a fishy odor in the room. It took us a while to figure it out but the smell was caused by the light bulbs burning a flat, white metal/composite(?) plate that was above the light bulbs. There is some foil-backed insulation between the bulbs and the plate but it was charred as well. The smell only occurred when the light was also in use. I talked with Minka but their response was not unacceptable. The person said that although the history of this fixture did show such problems, it was not a safety hazard and had not caused fires(!). I offered to send a photo of the browned plate but he said it wouldn't make a difference in their response. They apparently think that it is perfectly OK and pleasant to smell a fishy odor when the fixture is in use and, much worse, they are willing to take a chance with the safety of their customers. So, we will have to spend money for the electrician to come remove it so we can return it to the store and then pay again to have a new fan installed. Thanks Minka.

Hunter Ceiling Fans 23852 Original Classic 52" Fan - Chestnut Brown Cast Iron Indoor Fan 52" Review

(More customer reviews)I've always been a Hunter fan (gosh that's funny!), and wanted to spend a little more on their Original Classic. I am glad I did. Every part of the fan is of higher quality. The blades have real wood veneer on each side (walnut and oak); not the wood look vinyl.
The motor housing is cast iron (over 40 pounds! be careful) and uses oil (tube include) to continuously bathe the ball bearings and circulates to other vital areas. Hence, this fan comes with a lifetime warranty. They say the oil should never have to be replaced or added to, but the level should be checked every 5 years.
They kept the old Classic look and design but improved the efficiency. It has an Energy Star rating and is the most efficient model I've ever owned (I have 2 other new Hunter fans which are not as efficient; still good though). The efficiency ratings are shown on the outside top of the box.
It's a great fan.
